VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO RE-SURVEY CEMETERIES THIS SPRING. AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, MAY 8TH, FROM 3 P.M. UNTIL 4:30 P.M. AT THE BUSHWHACKER MUSEUM FOR EVERYONE INTERESTED. THE FIRST ANNUAL EMERGENCY AND FIRST RESPONDER COUNTY WIDE CHILI COOKOFF WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, MAY 15TH AT THE VERNON COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS.  JUDGING WILL BE BY THE VERNON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.  THEY'LL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC STARTING AT 5:00 P.M. AND BOWLS WILL BE $3.00 EACH TO SUPPORT LOCAL FIRE, EMS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT.  DONATIONS ARE WELCOME.
