Barbara Jeanne (Askins) Copeland, Nevada, passed away Friday, August 29, at Nevada Regional Medical Center at the age of 80. She is survived by three children, including Dr. Brad Copeland, Nevada. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a private memorial service is to be scheduled later. Memorials to Nevada Regional Medical Center are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Ronald A. White, El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, August 19, in Springfield, Mo. at the age of 60. Arrangements were under direction of a Midwest Funeral and Cremation Services and a service was held at White Chapel Memporial Gardens, Springfield.

Barbara Louise (Foulk) Morris, Marietta, Oklahoma and formerly Arcadia, Kansas, the mother of Randy Morris, Moundville and sister of Jimmie Foulk, Bronaugh, passed away Friday, August 29, at the age of 70. Arrangements are under direction of the Cheney-Witt Memorial Chapel, Fort Scott, and a graveside service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, in the Sheffield Cemetery, Arcadia. The family receives friends between six and eight o'clock Tuesday evening at the Cheney-Witt Chapel. Memorials to the Cato Historical Preservation Association are suggested and can be made in care of Cheney-Witt Chapel, Fort Scott.

Wayne Ray Norman, El Dorado Springs, passed away Sunday, August 31, at the age of 80. Arrangements are under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Hackleman Cemetery. The family receives friends between one and two o'clock Thursday afternoon at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Sharon Reeder, El Dorado Springs, passed away Friday, August 29, at the age of 70. Arrangements are under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.

Billee Rae (West) Lee, LaCygne, Kansas and a native of El Dorado Springs, Mo. and a 1948 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School, passed away Thursday, August 28, at the age of 84. Arrangements were under direction of the Schneider Funeral Home-Chapel at LaCygne and services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30,  at the LaCygne Christian Church with burial to follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorials to the LaCygne Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Foundation were suggested.

Silas Walter Mistler, rural Walker, passed away Sunday, August 24, at his home at the age of 88. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a private graveside service was held Thursday, August 28, in the Balltown Cemetery, Horton. Memorials to VFW Post #2175, Nevada, were suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

June Ann (Handley) Brewer, Nevada and a graduate of Metz High School, passed away Monday, August 25, at Nevada Regional Medical Center at the age of 82. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, in the Balltown Cemetery, Horton. Memorials either to the United Methodist Church or the Balltown Cemetery, Horton, were suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Kay "Linda" (Hope) Turner, Walker, Mo., passed away Saturday, August 23, at her home at the age of 75. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, Agust 27, at the funeral home and a private burial is planned later in the National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Memorials to the Wounded Warriors were suggesed and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington Street, Nevada.

Helen Marie (Klontz) Kutina, Nevada, passed away Saturday, August 23, at Barone Care Center, Nevada, at the age of 85. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a graveside service was held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, in the Sandstone Cemetery, Southeast of Nevada. Memorials to Vernon County Cancer Relief were suggested.

Charles R. Kellogg, retired and long-time basketball coach and teacher in the Rich Hill R-4 school district, passed away Saturday, August 23, at the Osawatomie, Kansas Life Care Center at the age of 78. Arrangements were under direction of Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, at the funeral home and burial followed in the Osawatomie Cemetery. Memorials to a Charles R. Kellogg Fund were suggested and can be made in care of Heuser Funeral Home.

Jim McMullen, Lamar, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Lamar. The retired hvac maintenance and repairman was 76. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Nevada, and services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, at the First Baptist Church, Lamar. 

Betty R. O'Sullivan, Lamar, passed away Saturday, August 23, at her home at the age of 90. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, at the United Methodist Church in Lamar with burial followed in the Lake Cemetery, Lamar. Memorials either the Lamar United Methodist Church or L.I.F.E. Foundation were suggested and can be made in care of Daniel Fuenral Home, 1201 Broadway, Lamar.

Kevin Ahlgren, Schell City, passed away Saturday, August 23, at the age of 54. Arrangements were under direction of the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City, abd a graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City. Memorials to a Kevin Ahlgren Fund were suggested and can be made in care of Great Southern Bank, Nevada.

Marie E. (Lanz) Banwart, Lamar and a 1940 graduate of Liberal High School, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Barton County Memorial Hospital at the age of 92. Arrangements were under direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27,, at the funeral home and a committal service was planned in the Iantha Cemetery. Memorials to  Iantha United Methodist Church were suggested.

Helen Viola Barker, Lincoln, Nebraska and formerly Mindenmines, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 24, at the age of 95. Arrangements were under direction of Konantz-Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, in the Barton City Cemetery near Liberal.

Rosemary Peters, Lamar, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Truman Healthcare, Lamar, at the age of 87. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar and services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lamar, and burial followed in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lamar, were suggested.

Hugo Herman Schiernbeck, Lamar, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Barton County Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamar with a private burial to be scheduled later. Memorials either to the Youth program at St. Mary's Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society were suggested.

June White, El Dorado Springs, passed away Monday, August 25, at the age of 80. Arrangements were under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, at the Church of God Holiness and burial followed in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. Memorials to High Hopes were suggested and can be made in care of the funeral home.

Wesley Kevin "Klink" Klinkhammer, a retired 3M employee formerly at the Nevada plant, passed away Monday, August 25, at the age of 62. Among his survivors is Nevada/Vernon County Farmers Market director Kelly Ast. Services were hel at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, August 28, at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, Mo. A funeral mass is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Mitchell, South Dakota. Memorials to the American Cancer Society were suggested.

Peggy Jean (Long) Drake, Fort Scott, passed away Tuesday, August 19, at her home at the age of 89. Arrangements were under direction of Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, Fort Scott, and a graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 25, in the National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Memorials to the Southern Care Hospice were suggested.

Carol Ann (Counce) Willis, Nevada, and formerly Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away Tuesday, August 19, at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin, at the age of 73. Arrangements for cremation are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and her ashes are to be returned to Colorado -- where she grew up before living in various places -- moving to Nevada in 1995 to be near her son.

Katherine Scovell, El Dorado Springs, passed away Friday, August 15, at the age of 46. Arrangements were under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
