56-year-old Linda Joy Craig, Nevada, passed away Friday, April 18, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a memorial service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Nevada, with the Reverend Chris Deines officiating. The family receives friends between ten and eleven o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

63-year-old Susan (Hall) Phillips, Nevada, passed away Thursday, April 17, at the home of a daughter in Joplin. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the funeral home with pastor Dennis Painter officiating. The family receives friends between six and seven o'clock this evening at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington Street, Nevada. Memorials to Vernon County Cancer Relief are suggested.

Dorothy Lee (Dixon) Evans, Chanute, Kansas and a native of Appleton City, Mo., passed away at Saturday, April 19, four days after her 88th birthday. Arrangements are under direction of Hill and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, and services are scheduled at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the funeral home with the Reverend Ron Beaton officiating. Burial is to follow in the Appleton City Cemetery. The family receives friends at noon Wednesday at the funeral home and memorials to the American Parkinson Disease Association are suggested.

Francis Marie Wood, formerly Vernon County, passed away Thursday, April 17, at Colonial Springs Healthcare, Buffalo, Mo., at the age of 93. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and services were held at 10:30 Saturday morning, April 19, at the funeral home and burial followed in the Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo. Memorials to the Olive Branch Cemetery were suggested.

88-year-old Edward Dale Lowe, El Dorado Springs, passed away Thursday, April 17. Arrangements were under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services were scheduled at 11:00 a.m. today at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family receives friends between ten and eleven o'clock this morning at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home and memorials to the CMH Hospice were suggested.

Alicja Barbara Patrych, Nevada, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 16, at the age of 82. Arrangements were under direction of Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes, Kansas City, and services were scheduled at 1:00 p.m. tonday at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Martha Schomberg, El Dorado Springs, passed away Thursday, April 10, at the age of 94. Arrangements were under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.

40-year-old Brian Lee Niles, Moundville, passed away Monday, April 14, at his home. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the Moundville Cemetery.

William Paul Wehrly, the owner of Bill's Food Market on the North side of the Nevada Square in the 1950s, passed away Thursday, April 17, at the age of 92. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Reverend Michael Downey officiating. Burial is scheduled in the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. The family receives friends between five and seven o'clock Wednesday evening, April 23, at the Fairfield Funeral Home, with rosary scheduled at 6:00 p.m. Memorials to the Holy Spirit Church or the Alpha Crisis Pregnancy Center are suggested.

Max Rose, Liberal, passed away Thursday, April 17, at the age of 76 in Kansas City. Arrangements were under direction of Konantz-Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and a celebration of his life was planned at seven o'clock this evening at the Oakton United Methodist Church with Kent Garfield officiating. Memorials to the Mid-America Heart Institute at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City were suggested.

Judith Ann Belcher, Nevada, passed away Monday, April 14, at the age of 72. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and no services are planned at this time.

Emily Clements, rural Lamar, passed away Tuesday, April 15, at her home at the age of 74. Arrangements are under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lamar, with burial planned in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lamar. The family receives friends between six and eight o'clock this evening at Daniel Funeral Home, and memorials either to the youth group at St. Mary's Church or Hospice Compassus were suggested.

Hazelle LaFarge, Butler, passed away Tuesday, April 15, at her home. Arrangements were under direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel, Butler, and services were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, at the funeral home and burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Memorials either to the Happy Hill Church of God of Heartland Hospice were suggested.

B. T. Eaton, Jr., Moundville, passed away Friday evening, April 11, at the Medicalodge-Nevada at the age of 89. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington Street, Nevada, and a graveside service was held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, April 16, in the National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kansas. Memorials either to Vernon County Cancer Relief or Heartland Hospice were suggested.

Stetson Toby Lee Winters, the newborn son of Leonard James Winters and Lacie Dawn Sallee, Lamar, passed away Sunday, April 13, at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the Sheldon, Mo. Cemetery.

James McManus, Lamar, passed away Monday, April 14, at Truman Healthcare, Lamar. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, 1201 Broadway, Lamar, and services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Lamar Family Ministries Center and burial followed in the Lake Cemetery, Lamar. Memorials to a fund for Frances McManus were suggested.

Hazel Lucille (Swickard) Freedle, Jerico Springs, passed away Thursday, April 17, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Lockwood, Mo., just a few days short of her 100th birthday. Arrangements are under direction of the Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton, and a graveside service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Greenfield Cemetery, Jerico Springs.

88-year-old Dorsey Durfee, formerly of the Happy Hill area near Rich Hill, passed away Friday, April 11, at the Butler-Medicalodge. Arrangements were under direction of Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and services were held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, April 17, at the Happy Hill Church of God and burial followed in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Rich Hill. Memorials to a Dorsey Durfee Fund were suggested.

Bernetta Griffitt, Lamar, passed away Saturday, April 12, at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin at the age of 80. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the funeral home and burial followed in the Kiley Cemetery, South of Lamar. 

Airason Mae Berning, the premature infant daughter of Jessica Dawn Beard and Dillon Ray Berning, passed away at birth Sunday, April 13. Arrangements were under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and a graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the Lindley Prairie Cemetery.

Marvin Delbert Seider, Appleton City, passed away Saturday, April 12, at the age of 85. Arrangements were under direction of the Hill and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, and services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Prairie City, Mo. Burial followed in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Prairie City, and memorials either to the Heartland Hospice, Zion Lutheran Church or the Zion Lutheran Choir were suggested.

Patricia Tubaugh, Golden City, passed away Saturday, April 12, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Lockwood, at the age of 80. Arrangements were under direction of the Pugh Funeral Home, Golden City, and services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the United Methodist Church, Golden City. Burial followed in the Dudenville Cemetery, South of Golden City.
