Silas Walter Mistler, rural Walker, passed away Sunday, August 24, at his home at the age of 88. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a private graveside service is scheduled Thursday, August 28, in the Balltown Cemetery, Horton. Memorials to VFW Post #2175, Nevada, are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

June Ann (Handley) Brewer, Nevada and a graduate of Metz High School, passed away Monday, August 25, at Nevada Regional Medical Center at the age of 82. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a graveside service is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, in the Balltown Cemetery, Horton, with Lawrence Cripps officiating. The family receives friends between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home and memorials either to the United Methodist Church or the Balltown Cemetery, Horton, are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Kay "Linda" (Hope) Turner, Walker, Mo., passed away Saturday, August 23, at her home at the age of 75. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. today at the funeral home and a private burial is planned late in the National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Memorials to the Wounded Warriors are suggesed and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington Street, Nevada.

Helen Marie (Klontz) Kutina, Nevada, passed away Saturday, August 23, at Barone Care Center, Nevada, at the age of 85. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a graveside service was held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, in the Sandstone Cemetery, Southeast of Nevada. Memorials to Vernon County Cancer Relief were suggested.

Charles R. Kellogg, retired and long-time basketball coach and teacher in the Rich Hill R-4 school district, passed away Saturday, August 23, at the Osawatomie, Kansas Life Care Center at the age of 78. Arrangements were under direction of Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and services were held at 10:00 a.m. today at the funeral home and followed in the Osawatomie Cemetery. Memorials to a Charles R. Kellogg Fund were suggested and can be made in care of Heuser Funeral Home.

Jim McMullen, Lamar, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Lamar. The retired hvac maintenance and repairman was 76. Arrangements are under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Nevada, and services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, at the First Baptist Church, Lamar. The family receives friends between ten and eleven o'clock Thursday morning at the Lamar First Baptist Church.

Betty R. O'Sullivan, Lamar, passed away Saturday, August 23, at her home at the age of 90. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, at the United Methodist Church in Lamar with burial followed in the Lake Cemetery, Lamar. Memorials either the Lamar United Methodist Church or L.I.F.E. Foundation were suggested and can be made in care of Daniel Fuenral Home, 1201 Broadway, Lamar.

Kevin Ahlgren, Schell City, passed away Saturday, August 23, at the age of 54. Arrangements are under direction of the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City, abd a graveside service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City. The family receives friends between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. today at Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home with memories to be spoken at seven o'clock. Memorials to a Kevin Ahlgren Fund were suggested and can be made in care of Great Southern Bank, Nevada.

Marie E. (Lanz) Banwart, Lamar and a 1940 graduate of Liberal High School, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Barton County Memorial Hospital at the age of 92. Arrangements were under direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and services were held at 10:00 a.m. today at the funeral home and a committal service is planned in the Iantha Cemetery. Memorials to  Iantha United Methodist Church were suggested.

Helen Viola Barker, Lincoln, Nebraska and formerly Mindenmines, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 24, at the age of 95. Arrangements are under direction of Konantz-Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, in the Barton City Cemetery near Liberal.

Rosemary Peters, Lamar, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Truman Healthcare, Lamar, at the age of 87. Arrangements are under direction of Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar and services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lamar, with burial to follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family receives friends between six and seven o'clock Thursday evening, August 28, at Daniel Funeral Home, and memorials to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lamar, are suggested.

Hugo Herman Schiernbeck, Lamar, passed away Sunday, August 24, at Barton County Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and services were held at 2:00 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamar with a private burial to be scheduled later. Memorials either to the Youth program at St. Mary's Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society were suggested.

June White, El Dorado Springs, passed away Monday, August 25, at the age of 80. Arrangements are under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, at the Church of God Holiness with burial to follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. The family receives friends between six and seven o'clock this evening at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home and memorials to High Hopes are suggested and can be made in care of the funeral home.

Wesley Kevin "Klink" Klinkhammer, a retired 3M employee formerly at the Nevada plant, passed away Monday, August 25, at the age of 62. Among his survivors is Nevada/Vernon County Farmers Market director Kelly Ast. Services are scheduled at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, August 28, at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, Mo. with a funeral mass scheduled at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Mitchell, South Dakota. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are suggested.

Margaret June (Cooper) Keesee, Topeka, Kansas and a 1949 graduate of Sheldon, Mo. High School, passed away Wednesday, August 20, at Midland Hospice Care, Topeka. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 23, in the Sheldon Cemetery.

Nancy Judy (McElroy) Hawks passed away Wednesday, August 20, at the age of 73. Arrangements were under direction of Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and a Celebration of Her Life was held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at the funeral home and burial followed in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Rich Hill. 

Larry Edwin Black passed away Tuesday, August 19, at the age of 71. Arrangements were under direction of Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and a Celebration of his life was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at the funeral home and burial followed in the Prescott, Kansas Cemetery.

Delores May (Hopper) Shutters, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, August 19, at SE Hospital, Cape Girardeau, Mo. at the age of 75. Arrangements were under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 22, at the funeral home.

Peggy Jean (Long) Drake, Fort Scott, passed away Tuesday, August 19, at her home at the age of 89. Arrangements were under direction of Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, Fort Scott, and a graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 25, in the National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Memorials to the Southern Care Hospice were suggested.

Carol Ann (Counce) Willis, Nevada, and formerly Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away Tuesday, August 19, at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin, at the age of 73. Arrangements for cremation are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and her ashes are to be returned to Colorado -- where she grew up before living in various places -- moving to Nevada in 1995 to be near her son.

Ward W. Terpening, Rich Hill, passed away Monday, August 18, at his son's home in Rich Hill at the age of 78. Arrangements were under direction of Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at the Myrtle Tree Assembly of God Church and burial followed in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Rich Hill.

Hollie Whiteside, Harwood, passed away Sunday, August 17, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 94. Arrangements were under direction of the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City, and services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, at the Schell City Christian Church and burial followed in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City. Memorials to the Schell City Christian Church were suggested.

Lucy M. Dade, El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, August 19, at the age of 91. Arrangements were under direction of the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, at the funeral home and burial followed in the Green Lawn Cemetery at Schell City, Mo. Memorials to Children's Mercy Hospital were suggested and can be made in care of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, 3130 E. 54 Highway, El Dorado Springs, 64744.

Sharon A. (Seigel) Forkner, Lamar, passed away Tuesday morning, August 19, at the age of 70. Arrangements were under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, in the Walker Cemetery, Welch, Oklahoma. Memorials to the Barton County Humane Society were suggested and can be made in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

Crystal Jones passed away Friday, August 15, in Joplin. Arrangements were under direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, in the Rosebank Cemetery, Mulberry, Kansas.

Katherine Scovell, El Dorado Springs, passed away Friday, August 15, at the age of 46. Arrangements were under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
