Obituaries

Glenn Ivan Francis, Nevada, passed away Friday, January 12, at Moore-Few Care Center at the age of 90. Services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at Ferry Funeral Home with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Burial is planned in the Oaklawn Cemetery at LaCygne, Ks. The family receives friends between five and seven o'clock Wednesday evening, January 17, at Ferry Funeral Home.

Herman Klotz, Jr. passed away Saturday, January 13. The former security guard at 3M in Nevada was 83. Services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 19, at Ferry Funeral Home with Lawrence Cripps officiating. A private committal is scheduled in Moore Cemetery. Memorials to the Wounded Warriors are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Paul John Hales, Nevada, passed away Thursday, January 11, at the age of 62. A memorial service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, at Ferry Funeral Home.

Athel G. Hyder, Nevada, passed away Friday, January 12, at Nevada Nursing and Rehab. The past commander of the Nevada American Legion Post was 84. Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, at Ferry Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Mosher officiating. Burial is planned in the Wagner Cemetery at Stockton. Visitation is scheduled between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at Ferry Funeral Home and memorials to Vernon County Cancer Relief are suggested.

Dorothy Snyder, Lamar, passed away Saturday, January 13, in Kansas City at the age of 88. Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, at the Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar with burial to follow in the Barton City Cemetery at Liberal. Eastern Star services are scheduled at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, at the funeral home with visitation to follow. Memorials to the Lamar United Methodist Church are suggested.

Ruth May Sitz, Nevada, passed away Friday, January 12, at the age of 96. Arrangements are to be under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Nevada, with burial to follow in Newton Burial Park. Visitation is scheduled between ten and ten-thirty Thursday morning, January 18, at the church and memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Chuck Parker, of Lamar, passed away Saturday, January 13 in Joplin. He was 64. Funeral services are to be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar with burial to follow in the Tolson Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation is to be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday. Contributions to the Kidney Foundation are suggested and can be made in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

Betty Jeanne Million, Nevada, passed away Friday, January 12, at the age of 88. Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 19, at Ferry Funeral Home with the Reverend Dennis Englebrecht officiating. Burial is planned in the Worsley Cemetery at Bronaugh. The family receives friends between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at Ferry Funeral Home and memorials to a fund for the family are suggested.

Myrtle Skaggs, Lamar, passed away Sunday, January 14. The retired Nurse's Aid was 92. Her family receives friends between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, followed by a graveside committal service in the Maple Grove Cemetery near Sylvania, Mo.

Gerald "Jerry" Kirbey passed away Wednesday, January 10. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home and a celebration of Jerry Kirbey's life will be held in the coming weeks. Contributions to the El Dorado Springs Elementary School are suggested and can be left in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Craig S. Beeman, of St. Joseph, Mo. and formerly of Nevada, passed away Sunday, December 31st in St. Joe. He was 69. Arrangements for Craig Beeman are under direction of the Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Creamatory in St. Joe and memorials either to the National Genealogical Society or the charity of the donor's choice are suggested.

Debra Sue Lowry, of Fort Scott, passed away Sunday, January 7 at the age of 62. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cheney-Witt Chapel in Fort Scott, Kan. and cremation was handled by the Cheney-Witt Chapel.
