Applications are now being accepted through March 31st for the Missouri Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program. This year's show is Friday, March 17th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Nevada Middle School Gymnasium. The Nevada Tigers and Lady Tigers start the final week of regular season play Tuesday night when the host the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers in a West Central Conference girl-boy doubleheader. Mike Harbit has the call of the action on AM 1240, KNEM starting with the girls game at 5:30 p.m. and the boys to follow. Pregame begins at 5:15 p.m. and will also be on the KNEM-AM audio stream and NevadaMO TV.
Post season high school basketball coverage gets started Monday evening on Double K Country from the Class 2 District 13 Tournament at Rich Hill and we'll have all the action for the Rich Hill Tigers and the Liberal Bulldogs. It's girls opening round play when the 4th seeded Liberal Lady Bulldogs take on the 5th seeded Rich Hill Lady Tigers. Tony Abati will have the play-by-play on 97.5 FM, KNMO and the KNMO-FM audio stream starting at 5:50 p.m. before the 6:00 p.m. tipoff. It will also be available on the Double K Country mobile app. Tuesday night, it'll be boys first round action with back-to-back contests. At 6:00 p.m. 5th seeded Liberal faces off with #4 Crest Ridge followed by a 7:30 p.m. contest between 2nd seeded Appleton City and #7 Rich Hill.
